From east and north come colonists intent on scratching a living from the forests, as well as educated but ruthless scientists and business men searching for the “magic medicine” and/or the new “magic-produce” to steal from its true owners and become rich without respect to the providing environment. Until recently this whole area was untouched, carried abundant wildlife and presented sound ciphers regarding valuable and seldomly found timber but in the last decade the pressure of human population and pilferage has led to a steep, steady but still reversible decline regarding wildlife species and commercial forestry, all currently limited by law, but increasing in scale and speed with local authorities unable to cope with and prevent it.
